    Heterocycles was awarded with the “ Professor A.N. Kost” memorial medal in 2006.
    The Medal is awarded for outstanding achievements in the chemistry of synthetic and natural heterocyclic compounds as a sign of public recognition of individual scientists and research group efforts. It was instituted in 2005 on the occasion of Professor A.N.Kost’s 90th Anniversary by the International Charitable Foundation Scientific Partnership, Lomonosov Moscow State University and Russian Mendeleev Chemical Society.

    Dr. Ivar Ugi's Memorial Issue
    On the 27th September 2005 Prof. Dr. Ivar Ugi passed away. He was a distinguished, internationally recognized chemist famous for his multicomponent reaction chemistry based on isocyanides, as well as for the development of novel phospho-rous reagents and computer chemistry. Dr. Ugi's chemistry is widely acknowledged and used in industry as well as academia, in particular, in the field of heterocyclic chemistry.
    Thus we are planning to publish a memorial issue of HETEROCYCLES at the beginning of December 2007 as Vol. 73.
