Heterocycles was awarded with the " Professor A.N. Kost" memorial medal in 2006.

The Medal is awarded for outstanding achievements in the chemistry of synthetic and natural heterocyclic compounds as a sign of public recognition of individual scientists and research group efforts. It was instituted in 2005 on the occasion of Professor A.N.Kost's 90th Anniversary by the International Charitable Foundation Scientific Partnership, Lomonosov Moscow State University and Russian Mendeleev Chemical Society.

Dr. Ivar Ugi's Memorial Issue

On the 27th September 2005 Prof. Dr. Ivar Ugi passed away. He was a distinguished, internationally recognized chemist famous for his multicomponent reaction chemistry based on isocyanides, as well as for the development of novel phospho-rous reagents and computer chemistry. Dr. Ugi's chemistry is widely acknowledged and used in industry as well as academia, in particular, in the field of heterocyclic chemistry.
Thus we are planning to publish a memorial issue of HETEROCYCLES at the beginning of December 2007 as Vol. 73.

The Nomination Committee of Heterocycles is pleased to announce that for 2005, the Kametani Award has been awarded to Prof. Dr. Heinz Heimgartner for his outstanding research in Heterocyclic Chemistry and contributions to Heterocycles.
The Kametani Award was founded in 1999 by the Nomination Committee and is intended to honor the memory of the founder of Heterocycles.

Dr. Kenji Koga's Memorial issue

We regret to announce that Dr. Kenji Koga, Emeritus Professor of Tokyo University, passed away in July 2004. We are planning to publish a memorial issue, Vol. 66, of HETEROCYCLES at the end of December 2005.
If you wish to contribute, it will be necessary to send us a letter by the end of April 2005 and to submit your article by the end of August 2005.
