■ Septentrionine and Septentriodine: Two New C₁₉-Diterpenoid Alkaloids from Aconitum septentrionale Koelle

Abstract

Investigation of the alkaloids of Aconitum septentrionale has led to the isolation and structure elucidation of two new diterpenoid alkaloids, septentrionine (1) and septentriodine (2). These are the first reported examples of C₁₉-diterpenoid alkaloids bearing a carboxy ester group on the amide side chain. ¹³C nmr chemical shifts and assignments for these and related alkaloids are presented.
